Mid January 2022, my husband Fred and I accepted an invitation of our dear old friend Johan Klopper (Kloppies) and his wife Marina to join them on a trip to the Kruger National Park. As we are always keen on watching animals in their natural habitat and we still love travelling this beautiful country we packed our Toyota Landcruiser and off we went!
Kloppies and Marina used this trip also to find new places to accommodate their clients of their company “Charter Us” so they also showed us the private game reserve Moditlo: a wonderful experience of close nature right on your doorstep!
We enjoyed the time: our friends and host were adorable like always and nature never looses its fascination!

Exploring Magnificent Cape Town……..

It was my first time in South Africa and I’ve had the pleasure to see some of the most beautiful spots in Cape Town! Booked two tours with Johan and his lovely wife. Absolute highlight was the picnic at the beach with oysters, regional wine  and stunning views! Personalized tours to amazing vineyards in Stellenbosch with olive oil tasting and lots of background information!

Unfortunately we only had one day that we could spend with Johan, but “Kloppies” made the most of it! He picked us up in CT, then had a ride through Stellenbosch followed by wine tastings at various vineyards. One of them was Leopards Leap in where we had lunch. The wine and food was exceptionally good and really cheap for European standards. Whilst driving through the beautiful scenery of the Cape, Johan had lovely stories to share, and could answer all of our questions. We felt secure and well looked after all day long. We would book him and his company any time, since he offers individual packages and cares for special needs. February 2024. Ulla from Vienna.

Our tour with you is still fresh in our memory! From beginning to end the drive into the vineyards was really special…..the mountain scenery absolutely spectacular. Etwas mehr als 150 Weingüter sind in der Region beheimatet. Johan Klopper ist wohl der einzige Mensch in Stellenbosch, der sie ausnahmslos alle für Verkostungen besucht hat. Damit ist der freundliche Bure ein Glücksfall für unternehmungslustige Winelands-Besucher, denn Klopper veranstaltet individuelle Weintouren. Auch für größere Gruppen, aber am liebsten für zwei bis vier Teilnehmer. Die Trips dauern mehrere Stunden, er bringt seine Gäste dabei mit Kellermeistern zusammen.

We found Johan in the exquisite German Magazine ” Der Feinschmecker” just before leaving to South Africa, and booked a wine tour with him. We left the choice of wineries to him, and he showed us Glenelly, with its glass museum, Delaire Graf Wine Estate with wonderful art, Glen Carlou and Neethlingshof with an amazing price ratio.

This was an experience we will never forget!

Another exquisite winery with exceptional food we visited was Creation Wines in the Hemel & Aarde Valley, near Hermanus. Another art gallery which enchanted us was the Cavalli Estate near Stellenbosch.
