Johan Klopper founded CHARTER US in 2012 specialising in personal travel needs.
His experience in travel dates back to his University days in Stellenbosch travelling as a student with the Geography faculty to Namibia in 1968, as well as visiting Zimbabwe in 1969, and a return trip to Namibia in 1970 as member of a University Residence Rugby team.
Thereafter overseas trips of note included:
- 1970 – Trips to France, Spain, Portugal and England as a player representing the Stellenbosch University Rugby Team under the leadership of Jannie Engelbrecht, famous Springbok Rugby wing. It was while in London that Johan organised his first trip with a few players visiting Amsterdam and Berlin for a couple of days.
- 1972 – A trip to Munich to attend the Olympic Games.
- Various tours to Europe, USA, Australia, Israel, Egypt, Kenia, Botswana, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore, Mauritius, Seychelles, Brazil and Argentina followed, but were only the start.
Johan’s vision for tourism from 2022 and onwards?
“To vigorously promote the interests of our associates in tourism through our global network and social platforms, to empower colleagues from the tourism industry and to identify specific organisations and charities to whom financial contributions will be initiated.”
Marina Klopper plays an integral support role in Charter Us Tourism by hosting clients with culinary delights during trips and often accompanies Johan on both overseas and local tours
