It all began in the early 1990’s when three young flight attendants from Austrian Airlines visited Stellenbosch and stayed at our guest house.

Harald, Robert and Gerald became instant friends of the Klopper family, and together we enjoyed crayfishing at Rooi Els in False Bay, numerous wine tasting experiences of the best that Stellenbosch had to offer, and savouring the local culinary delights of the region. They had to come back!

In the following years they brought their girlfriends and wives to be! Today Angela and Anita are regarded family together with their respective daughters, Anna and Ella, and Dana.

They also introduced Doris and her husband, Fred, who eventually invested in a house at Pringle Bay in the Southern Cape after visiting and touring South Africa, Namibia and Botswana the last 20 years!

When Austrian Airlines decided to fly directly from Vienna to Cape Town on a six-month destination contract from the end of October 2018 to the end of April 2019, Angela, Anita, Robert and Doris promoted our company, CHARTER US TOURS. Other current crew members and friends (they know who they are!), were instrumental in referring clients to our company. For their efforts we thank them dearly!

During the last six months we conducted more than fifty trips with more than two hundred crew members, family and friends of Austrian Airlines. New friendships developed during their visits to Cape Point, viewing the penguins at Boulders Bay, enjoying picnics at the beach, experiencing the quality wines of the Cape, visiting Game Reserves, and traveling along the Garden Route.

The photographs and comments in this post are a result of some of the wonderful times we spent with the Austrians, their families and friends, and trust that many of them will return to Cape Town and South Africa for our 2019/2020 summer season.
